When Do We Post Our Champions League Predictions?

UEFA Champions League logoWe post our AI Champions League predictions a couple of days before the games in question. The clubs involved will all play domestic fixtures on the weekend preceding European games.

We need to wait until those domestic matches have been resolved before we can start the process of generating our Champions League tips.

Our AI systems source information that is relevant to Champions League games and use it to create countless simulations of these contests.

The data includes factors such as team news, form, head-to-head history, home/away records, tactics and even the weather forecast.

This information can only be truly accurate, relatively close to the game taking place. These simulations give us an idea of how matches are likely to play out.

We can then match this knowledge to available bets, to create our football tips and accurate predictions.

Champions League Betting Tips We Offer

In this section we’re going to explore the different types of football tips that we regularly make for the Champions League

They broadly fall into two categories. Tips that are based around games and outright betting, such as Champions League winner predictions.

Champions League Match Predictions

If you look through our Champions League tips today, here are some of the football betting markets that you can expect to see.

  • 1×2 – Also known as match result, this is a market based on who will win a Champions League game. Back 1 for the home team, x for the draw or 2 for the away side. We always give 1×2 betting tips on major matches.
  • Accas – With so many games taking place at the same time in the Champions League, it’s perfect for an accumulator bet. Combine several of our picks together into one bet, or follow our Champions League acca tips.
  • Cards – A Champions League prediction for card betting tips suggest wagers on how many cards will be shown in a game, whether an individual player will be booked, or if there will be a sending off in a game.
  • Corners – Follow corner tips for recommended wagers on how many corners a team might win, or how many there will be overall in a match.
  • Bet Builder – We often give Champions League bet builder tips, which is where you create an acca bet from a number of wagers from within the same match.
  • Both Teams to Score – Another popular bet we consider is both teams to score in a game, or for that not to happen. This is one of our most regular Champions League score predictions, as there can be value in the odds. An alternative name is BTTS.
  • Correct Score – Picking out the exact correct score in a match is well rewarded in terms of the odds, but a tricky task. Our Champions League correct score predictions can make it easier.

  • Double Chance – Another result-based bet, where you are wagering on two of the three possible match result outcomes. You can bet on the home team to win and the draw, the away team to win and the draw, or either the home team or the away team to win.
  • Goalscorer – There are a variety of goalscorer betting options available to match with our UEFA predictions. You can bet on our first goalscorer tips, but also players to score the last goal or at any time.
  • Over and Under – The most popular over under bets relate to goals, such as will there be over or under 2.5 goals. Our over under tips also apply to other statistics, such as corners, or the amount of cards shown.

The New Champions League Format Explained

There are 36 teams that qualify for the league stage in the new Champions League format.

Some of these teams have qualified automatically for this stage by their performances in their domestic leagues. Others have to come through qualifying rounds.

Each team plays eight different sides. There are four home games and four away matches.

The 36 teams are split into four pots, based on their UEFA coefficient rankings. Each side plays one home match and one away match, against teams from each of the four pots, creating eight fixtures in total.

There is one overall league table, with teams earning three points for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss. The top eight teams will advance to the Round of 16.

Teams finishing in the positions 9th to 24th, will face each other in a play-off round, to try and reach the Round of 16. Clubs finishing between 25th and 36th are eliminated with no UEFA Europa League places available.

From the play-offs onwards the Champions League enters a knockout phase. Ties are played on a two-legged basis, with the winner advancing to the next round and the loser exiting the competition.

Eventually there will be just two teams remaining and they will compete in a one-off match at a neutral venue, to decide who are that season’s champions of European football.
