Many football stars saw their market value surge this season after showing impressive performance and signing new contracts. However, several names stand out, and the combined increase in their market values is quite remarkable.
According to data presented by Betideas.com, the top ten market value gainers of 2025/2026 have collectively added €575 million in value over the past year.
Lamine Yamal Tops the List with a €100M Gain, Doubling His Valuation in a Year
Not many 17-year-olds playing football get the chance to play at the highest level, and even fewer manage to have the kind of impact that Barcelona’s wonderkid Lamine Yamal has. The Ballon d’Or nominee has also seen his market value skyrocket in the past year, ranking as the biggest gainer in the 2025/26 season.
According to TransferMarkt data, Yamal’s market value has more than doubled since last August, rising from €90 million to €200 million. Furthermore, that €110 million increase is 40% higher than the next two names on the list. His teammate Pedri follows with a €60 million rise over the past year, while Paris Saint-Germain’s right winger Désiré Doué ranks third with a €60 million increase and a current valuation of €90 million. All other players trail behind these gains.
Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitiké grew his market value by €55 million to €75 million, ranking fourth on the list. Statistics show Omar Marmoush, Pau Cubarsí and Dean Huijsen saw similar gains, each adding between €50 million and €53 million. Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri, Liverpool’s Alexander Isak, and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise close the top ten list, with €47 million and €45 million market value gains in a single year.
The data also show that Barcelona has the highest number of players among the top market value gainers, with three, while Liverpool has two, and Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal each have one.
Who are the Biggest Market Value Losers?
Unlike these players, who have collectively added more than half a billion euros to their valuations in a single year, many famous footballers saw their value fall, and these lost the most. According to Transfermarkt, Manchester City’s Phil Foden tops this infamous list, with a market value drop of €50 million, losing 33% of his valuation in just one year.
Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga and Nottingham’s Douglas Luiz aren’t far behind, each losing €40 million over the same period. Galatasaray’s Leroy Sané and West Ham’s Lucas Paquetá round up the list of five biggest losers, with their market values falling by €38 million and €37 million, respectively.
